Welcome to Maine Street Coons, where we take great pride in connecting our discerning buyers with the perfect Maine Coon kitten to suit their lifestyle.
Our top-notch breeding program has quickly become one of the most trusted and sought after in the nation — known for the exceptional health, temperament, and beauty of our Maine Coon cats and kittens. While many of our clients live in the Southeast, we have placed kittens as far north as Vermont and as far west as California. Our high-touch approach and deep commitment to our clients and kittens both before and after purchase ensures a personalized, stress-free adoption experience.
Here’s how you can become part of our extended Maine Street Coons family. We look forward to making your Maine Coon dream come true!
Step 1: Apply Online
The first step towards bringing home one of our precious kittens is to complete our online application. We will then contact you to schedule a phone conversation, as getting to know you helps us better understand your lifestyle and match you with the just-right kitten. When we chat, we'll give you an honest estimate of your wait time based on your gender and color preferences.
As a pre-approved client, you'll always know where you stand. You'll receive personal updates from us about all confirmed pregnancies, estimated due dates, and possible kitten colors. With each expected litter, we'll let you know if it's possible your kitten may be among the expected arrivals. And, of course, we'll be in touch within a few days of arrival to let you know if your kitten is among the new arrivals.
A perfect match is about a lot more than just appearances, so we'll wait to match you with the perfect kitten when they are between six to eight weeks old. By then, we'll know which kitten has the most suitable temperament and personality to complement your life. If you choose to accept the kitten offered, we'll send you a reservation agreement. The signed agreement and your $1,000 non-refundable deposit are due within 24 hours.
*Kittens being considered for our show or breeding program may remain "Under Evaluation" up to the age of 12 weeks.
Step 4: Get Prepared for the Big Day
Prior to pickup, you'll be provided our detailed Maine Coon kitten care guide, shopping list, an email outlining our feeding guidelines with a 35% off coupon for Royal Canin, information to activate your kitten's Trupanion insurance policy, and a copy of your final purchase contract for review.
Step 5: Bring Your Perfect Companion Home
At pickup, you will meet your kitten and its parents in person, review their health records and care instructions, sign the purchase agreement, and pay your final balance. Cash and all major credit cards are accepted. Credit cards are automatically assessed a 3.5% processing fee by Square. We do not accept checks, Venmo, PayPal, or any other form of electronic payment at pickup.
Step 6: Get Support and Care from Home
We care deeply about the well-being of our kittens after they leave our cattery. That's why we offer a generous health guarantee and lifetime support to all of our clients. We are always just a phone call or email away if you need any advice or guidance on caring for your new companion.
Our commitment to our Maine Coons and clients is unwavering, as we strive to provide the best possible pre- and post-adoption experience. The significant investment of time, money, and heart we pour into your kitten is reflected in our price point and generous health guarantee.
In 2025, our TICA-registered, health-guaranteed Maine Coon kittens will be $3,750 regardless of sex, color, or polydactylism. There are no extra charges for males, polydactyls, or rare coat colors.
Unlike those looking to cut costs to maximize profit, we ensure your precious kitten is seen regularly by our expert, licensed veterinarian of two decades. Your kitten will undergo at least three full health & wellness exams before going to your home, and they will be medically released by our veterinarian with a signed health certification, providing you with priceless peace of mind.
Because of all the health screening we do on our breeding cats, and the quality of veterinary care we provide, we are able to offer the most owner-friendly health guarantee in the hobby. Our precious kittens are covered for a full five years against HCM, SMA, PkDef, and PKD, the four genetic conditions known to affect the breed. And because FIP is no one's fault, we r sympathy replacement provision should your kitten pass away from FIP, despite receiving timely, appropriate anti-viral treatment.
We do everything in our power to ensure your Maine Coon kitten leaves us free of infectious diseases, parasites, and fungal infections. If their initial vet visit (required within 72 hours of pickup) reveals any minor ailment requiring treatment, we will happily reimburse you for the cost of treatment up to $200, at which point your Trupanion insurance policy kicks in.
At each of their three exams, our vet's staff administers the age-appropriate vaccinations for FVCRP. At their third and last visit before going home, they also receive the one-year Purevax rabies vaccine. Your kitten will not require any additional vaccinations until they receive their boosters a year later. This can make the difference of several hundred dollars in Maine Coon kitten cost.
Our Maine Coon kittens have fecal exams and deworming done at each visit to ensure we stay one step ahead of any unwanted hitchhikers. At each exam, our veterinarian performs a fecal PCR test and treats appropriately to ensure kittens leave us parasite free.
We are a feline leukemia-negative cattery, but for our clients' peace of mind, we have our vet test kittens in every litter at their last visit before going home.
Every Maine Street Coon kitten leaves us protected against theft and loss by an implanted microchip backed by AKC Reunite's Lifetime Registration & Recovery Service. There is no annual fee as all of this is included in our Maine Coon kitten pricing.
In addition to our generous health guarantee, we send every kitten home covered by a robust health policy from Trupanion. There's no cost to you and no obligation to keep it after 30 days.
We put some time and effort into creating our very own Maine Coon Kitten care guide to help you prepare for a successful homecoming, prioritize your shopping list, and raise a well-mannered Gentle Giant that will be the envy of your friend's and neighbors.
We recognize that your heart is invested from the moment you commit to your kitten, and we honor that relationship in every step of our process. You can expect to get regular updates from us via text and email, which will often include either candid or professional photos and videos. We will ensure you feel super connected to your kitten as they reach each new milestone, and we will share a lot of tips and tricks to help you prepare for kitten's homecoming along the way.
All of our cats and kittens are fed the very best dry food, wet food, and supplements, based on their life stage. To help you continue these healthy habits at home— ensuring your kitten has strong immunity, a healthy gut, a luxurious coat, and everything they need to grow to their full magnificent potential—we send you home with everything they need for a full ten days, as well as a 35% off coupon for your first food purchase.

We believe in creating the best life possible for your Maine Coon kitten, which is why we offer an unrivaled five-year health guarantee.
Why does this matter?
The typical one-year guarantee offered by many breeders barely scratches the surface when it comes to protecting your kitten. Genetic conditions in a Maine Coon won't typically surface until the cat's second or third year of their life, sometimes even later.
Our unmatched five-year guarantee steps in right from the date of your adoption, providing you with financial security and peace of mind.
If your Maine Coon kitten unfortunately encounters any of the covered genetic conditions (HCM, SMA, PKD, or PKdef), rest assured we will offer a no-cost replacement kitten. Your guarantee stays strong until your kitten's fifth birthday.
And for those initial days? We have a 72-hour treatable condition reimbursement policy that provides up to $200 in reimbursement coverage for out-of-pocket costs should your kitten develop any major health issues in the first few days with you, discovered by your veterinarian at their initial health exam.
Going above and beyond, Maine Street Coons also covers you with a one-year replacement provision for kittens treated for but succumbing to FIP. Despite the fact that there's nothing you or we can do to predict or prevent FIP infection, we understand how heartbreaking such a loss would be and promise to do our part ot make things easier.
At Maine Street Coons, we provide more than just a pet; we offer a lifelong partnership of care and comfort. While we do our utmost, nothing in life is 100% predictable. Therefore, we send our kittens home with a free 30-day pet insurance policy and require our adopters to maintain that Trupanion pet insurance policy for the full five years the kitten is under guarantee.
Choose Maine Street Coons. Choose a lifetime of love, care, and unmatched guarantees for your Maine Coon.
When choosing an ethical Maine Coon breeder, be sure to consider the health testing, health guarantee, and health insurance offered. At Maine Street Coons, we send every Maine Coon kitten we raise home covered by Trupanion for 30-days at no cost. There are no waiting periods, no exclusions for pre-existing conditions, and all genetic disorders are covered, too! Once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of all condition-related expenses, including prescription food. It's pretty amazing coverage, and we require our pet owners to maintain the policy for at least the first five years of their cat's life to avoid the early termination of life for financial reasons.
The average lifespan of a Maine Coon is 15 years. Should extenuating circumstances arise, your Maine Coon cat will always have a home here at Maine Street Coons. But our first, and best, choice is to choose owners that can make and keep a lifetime commitment. One critical part of this commitment is maintaining a Trupanion Pet Insurance policy on your kitten for their lifetime. This is a contractual requirement for adopting one of our priceless kittens.
Providing your Maine Coon cat with the proper living conditions, mandatory Trupanion health insurance and veterinary care, nutrition, litterbox, pest prevention, grooming, toys, scratching posts, pet-sitting or boarding, and other miscellaneous expenses will run you between $1,000 and $2,000 a year, on average. While we wish money grew on trees, it doesn't. There are long-term expenses involved in caring for a Maine Coon cat that are not suitable for every financial situation.
Despite all the health testing we do, and the excellent care we provide our kittens before they go home, health conditions can and do arise which can be very costly to treat. The average cost of treatment for conditions like FIP, stomatitis, nasal polyps, and hip dysplasia ranges from $3,000 to $6,000. We never want one of our babies to suffer, or see their life ended prematurely, for financial reasons. Trupanion pet insurance covers all these conditions and more, including allergies, diabetes, arthritis, and cancer, at 90% with a $200 deductible.
Because an intact (unspayed or unneutered) cat is subject to health and behavioral issues, we only place kittens in homes that agree to spay or neuter their kitten by nine months of age, and we never sell our cats with breeding rights.
We promise there is nothing cruel or harmful about spaying or neutering a Maine Coon kitten at the proper age. It will not stunt their growth or negatively alter their personality and will save you a ton of heartache and hassle. Sexually mature Maine Coons will mark their territory, attempt to run out the door to pursue a romance, and loudly vocalize their desire to find a mate.
Domesticated cats are not the same as their wild counterparts, and the great outdoors poses far more danger and threats to your Maine Coon than it's worth. If you believe that cats are happiest when allowed the freedom to roam, we respect your decision, but we are not the breeder for you. Exposure to infectious diseases, parasites, dogs and other predators, snake bites, cars, and mean people are just a few of the reasons we require our cats be kept indoors or in a secured "catio" 100% of the time.
During declawing, sensory and motor nerves in the cat's paw are cut, damaged, and destroyed. Removing claws is just like amputating the first knuckle of your fingers--it is permanently disfiguring and incredibly painful. This unnecessary procedure forever changes the way a cat's foot meets the ground and how the cat walks, leading to lameness, back troubles, and more. Many cats' personalities change as a result of living in chronic pain. We have multiple cats at Maine Street Coons and are able to keep all our belongings intact by trimming nails often, providing scratching posts, and training the right behaviors early.
